On trend right now are tresses full of bright colors like purple. We've seen celebrities like Katy Perry and Kelly Osbourn wear these colors and surprisingly it looks good. Part of the reason punk colored hair looks good on people who are not punk rockers is because of the style of the hair. However, these bright hues can damage your hair. It's also a style that you can change very easily once it's done. So what do you do when you want a funky hair color but you don't want the commitment?... semi-permanent hair color! Maybe but semi-permanent hair color is still a process. For this trend consider HAIR CHALK! It's easy and very temporary. Hair chalk is so temporary we applied the hair chalk in the morning and at night all she had to do is wash it! You can apply this easily at home. However for a more permanent or semi-permanent look, you will need to go to your hair care professional.
Here is how you do it:
Decide where you want the hair chalk to appear. For the look seen above we decided to use the peek-a-boo technique, only allowing for a few strands around the models face. You can decide to do a highlighted look, color the ends or do your bangs. The possibilities are endless.
Next, section hair and apply leave in conditioner
Apply the hair chalk as directed
Seal in in the color with a warm flat iron
Add hairspray as another locking mechanism and there you have it!
