Natural Transition
Transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair is a frequent asked question. Many want to know should they cut it off or continue to grow it out. These two choices depend on the preference of the person. If you decide to just grow it out over a period of time you want to stay on top of your hair trims, and treatments. Treatment should be done every two weeks, and cold wash once a week with an intense moisturizer. When choosing this option you really get to learn how to manage your hair and what product will work well for it. Doing the big chop is a very dramatic experience, but the great thing is you get to experience the natural curl pattern growing out evenly. Some issue you maystruggle with during the process is tangling, hair breakage and split ends. But Consider conditioning more, moisturizers, and using oils daily. Products that have proteins, silicones and mineral oils are great for your hair.

Gerri Styles My Hair: Pin Curls
More installments of my short hair adventures! I am trying new things every week to see what looks I like best. Who said short hair isn't fun and versatile? Gerri used the pin curls on my hair because it is a protective style. A Protective style is a style that does not use heat on your hair. I use this protective style in between my visits to Gerri so I don't have to use heat on my hair.
Shampoo your hair and use a moisturizing conditioner
Set the sides of your hair with a set foam and sit under the dyer
Once dry use a light serum
finger through your hair with a blow dryer for the top of your hair if it is still damp
Section your hair
Curl and pin as you curl. Pinning your curl will set the curl, much like hot rollers.
At night before bed pin you hair in curls and sleep in a silk bonnet.
There is no need to use hairspray to maintain, it is a low maintenance hairstyle, provided you pin your hair every night.

Hair Tips for Face Types
- Round Faces should lean towards more Side Bang, Off-Centered Parts, and when considering a hairstyle keep the hair around the face straight and either go short or medium length.
- Heart Shape Faces should work will with curly, wavy look, fringed bangs, and middle parts. When choosing a style length is not a problem with heart shape faces.
- Square Face Shapes can wear cute pixie cuts, deep parts with bangs, and layered looks. Square Face shapes can wear many different looks and length is not a factor.
- Oval Face shapes should wear bangs. Bobs and Long straight hair is the perfect look for an oval shape face.
- Long Face shapes can go without bangs with most of their hairstyles. Middle parts and Side Parts work well for their face shape.
