3 Brushes You Must Have

There are three great brushes to use on your hair when styling. These three brushes are: The Vent Brush, Paddle Brush, and Round Brush. They all work well on different hair types and can be used to help straighten, and create body in your hair when blow drying.

Round or Roller Brushes are great for straightening, creating volume, and adding body to the hair.

Vent Brushes are great for blow drying the hair to make it smooth, and straight.

Paddle Brushes helps with straighten, smoothing, andworking well with the blow-drying for very long hair.

It's spring! You said you wanted a change this year, we'll there is no time like the present! Color takes you from boring to beauty! No matter the length of your hair try color at some point this year.  Color adds versatility. It can be added all over at the nape, in the bang or at the crown of your head!

Workout Alternatives

Working Out is great, but how great is it when you are having trouble coming up with ways to keep it healthy and protected while working out. Working out causes you to sweat more in your hair which makes your hair get build up faster and have dry scalp. It is very important to make sure you shampoo your hair once a week, continue to get deep conditioners, and drink plenty of water. Working out with Short hair, I recommend getting a nice Satin or silk headband to wear around your hair to lay the sides down. If you have Long Hair try pulling you hair up in a loose ponytail, box braids, twist hairstyle, sewn-in, or cornrows. Then you can continue to be Fit and Fabulous!

Last week I asked if this retro sexy look is something I should try. You answered and I did it! I love it Gerri did a great job helping me to achieve this look.  Although finger waves are not a new idea it is definitely one that us short-haired girls need to try.

This look adds versatility to a short cut.  I like that it can be dressed up as seen here or dressed down. This a great special occasion look.

Inspired by the 20s it's vintage and very relevant in fashion right now.

Fekkaii has great hair products that work well with all different hair textures. The Fekkaii Glossing Cream is a great styling product that helps to restore moisture in the hair, controls frizzing, and provide a nice shine to the hair.   Anyone of any age can use it! This is a great product to use at home daily. I love that it has olive oil in it. 

Product Review: Chi44 Iron Guard

You should always have a heat protector when styling you hair using the iron. I recommend Chi 44 Iron Guard as a product to use before styling your hair.  Make sure the hair has been shampooed and conditioned. Apply a leave-in conditioner and blow dry the hair thoroughly. Spray the Chi 44 Iron Guard evenly over the hair.  If your hair is thicker I recommend sectioning the hair and spraying as you style.  Spraying lightly, hold the spray at least 2inches away from the hair. Then style as desired, making sure you use your iron starting from root to end.

This week Gerri showed me how to do a crown braid and I love it.  This is something perfect for a holiday party, or any other special occasion.  It's pretty easy (if you know how to braid)and very cute here's how it's done...

Section hair and leave out a 2 inch perimeter around the hair and clip it.

Make sure the hair is straight. You can straighten your hair with a flat iron and CHI heat protecting spray.

Braid hair in an underhanded braid using the hair sectioned in the middle and pin. Take a rat tail comb and loosen the braid for a relaxed and effortless look.

Curl as desired.

Fall might be the time to experiment with color.  There is less risk of damaging your hair, your void of chlorine, summer heat, salt water and other summer elements that can damage color treated hair.  With the drab conditions of fall and winter you can bring color to your look by trying colors like ravishing red, chocolate brown and even sunny blonde.  Go drastic this fall! If you have raven black hair try adding a few peek-a-boo colors around the face like red, or brown. An ombre effect is another option to try a little color at a time. Try an all over Vibrant Red Shade to your hair to give off a sexy, glamour look to you r hair. If you have Layers try highlighting your hair with blonde and a dark brown undertones to create depth and definition to your style.

Blond and Chocolate are a nice balance for the fall.

Today-  CREATING A NICE WAVY ROMANTIC LOOK...

I love how my hair has a slight wave the day after Gerri does my hair.  I love lots of curls and Gerri usually styles me with big bouncy curls but there is something about the day after that I love... The Wavy Romantic curls. The curls that look effortless but styled. It looks like I rolledout the bed with sexy waves.  I asked Gerri how I can achieve this look more than whenever I wanted...

 Make sure you have a Barrel Curling Iorn, Holding Spray and Duck Clips.

 Section your hair into three sections. 

Start from the back section and start at the nape from the root and hole the barrel curling iron upward for 10 seconds, then turn  the barrel downward for 10 seconds. Repeat. 

When finished  spray a light holding spray, and remove the clips. Volia! You have a Wavy Romantic Look!
